Where does my business show up on Google Maps?
It depends on where the customer is. Google ranks the map from each searcher’s own spot, so a shop can be first at its door and missing a few miles away. The check searches “ac repair” from your shop and from 8 spots around it, 3 miles out, and shows where you came up at each.
What is a spot?
One Google Maps search for “ac repair”, made as if from that point on the map. Green means you were in Google’s top 3 there, so you get the call. Amber is #4–7, where people scroll past you, and red is #8 or lower, where they never see you.
